Additional Notes for Fishing Report June 22nd 2019 Kenai River & Russian River Alaska
The 1st run of Sockeye into the Russian River in Cooper Landing Alaska, continues to run strong and will probably become a new record return for the watershed. Most people continue to limit out with a 9 fish limit with the greatest success in the Sanctuary. The recent count places the amount at the weir at over 65000 fish, exceeding the "Optimum" escapement goal thus far by over 20,000. The line into the camp ground is running anywhere from an hour to 2 hours wait but its worth the time and effort. Trout fishing on the Upper Kenai from the bridge down has also been really good as well as Sockeye trips. Tight lines!!!
